A journey to fill my soul

As I created this blog, with help from a few of my friends, I guess I’ve failed to set dates and expectations as to the plan. I explained that this has been a 5-plus year plan with this year being the firm ‘go’ time, but when. I officially retire on May 2, 2025, so I am committed to stay still till then. But there are a few things that come up following which I feel a need to still be in the area. Memorial Day falls on the 26th of May. For some this is just a free-day with a guaranteed 3-day weekend. For me, it’s a hallowed day that must be remembered, people gave their life for our freedom. I don’t much like being alone on this day so I’ll be around for this. May 30 is an important date to me as well as my wife and I celebrate, on this calendar year, 44 years of marriage. Not sure the wife would be too happy if I missed that one. So, June 2 is the official day. Besides, I don’t want to get too far in front of myself because I do want to be in the arctic to see the colors and hopefully the migration of reindeer back to their winter homes.

So, June 2 it is. I hope I earn your time throughout the travel season, the entries should be frequent, like every couple of days, and the photos should be appealing. Leading up to that date I still have some work to do, so I’ll bring you along for those adventures. Thank you for your time, and until next time…Peace.
